G's comment on stress.

I had a bit of a busy eve trying to co-ordinate 3 boys and cubs & scouts and the cubs had to take bicycles with them.

So I left the older 2 at home and G and I cycled the few km to cubs. I then cycled the long way home, then dropped the 2 older boys off by car, came home parked and cycled back in time to fetch G and cycle him home again - before dark.

On the way back G says 'I am so glad I got to cycle like this tonight because it's good to get a bit of exercise and also it helps me to de-stress.' LOL. Shame didn't realise he was 'stressed' at the end of the week!

U2 - It was a Beautiful Day

My sister and I went to the concert on Friday and had a total BLAST.

We caught a train from Rondebosch and then walked the fan walk while sipping beer.

Corny 'U2' pic outside the stadium.

Posing in our seats.

There were some few people there! (somewhere around 72 000)

It looked amazing!

Afterwards we popped into Beulah Bar where we danced up a storm and had such fun - including a brief lesbian-sisters play acting to get rid of a scaley dude who was bugging us!  8) - until we had to literally run to the station and JUST made it in time to cram onto the very last train at about 2am.

Wow. LOVED every minute of it!

Heartbreaking - something I found in G's school book

Last night after bedtime I noticed one of G's school books lying out in the lounge where he'd done his homework. So I paged through it before I took it back to his bag.

There was a page of sentances where they had obviously been given words to make senatances from. These words were in red.

One of the words was 'hopeful'

His sentance read: 'I was hopeful that my dad would come back, but he never did. (Troo story)'

My poor baby. I know he carries such hurt and sadness from this. It tears me up.

Fitness Ass(essment) again...

Today I had another Fitness assessment. I missed the second one last year due to the deathly flu I had in October. So the last assessment was a full year ago.

My measurements were as follows (last 2 year's results in brackets so from newest to oldest results consecutively):
Weight: 56kgs (55kg, 57.5kgs)
Height: 166cm
BMI: 20.3 (19.7, 21)
Waist Circumference: 69cm (67cm, 70cm)
Body Fat percentage: 22.5% (23.5%, 21.1%)
BP Systolic: 100 (110, 110)
BP Diastolic: 65 (70, 60)

My Maximum Functional Capacity - Done as a (25cm) step test with 4x 2-minute stepping intervals with increasing tempo, and 1-minute rest breaks between them:

Max Functional Capacity: 43,5 (56.8, 46.1)
Max HR (bpm) - 135 (132, 130)
Avg HR (bpm) - 91 (110, 89)
Duration (min) - 12

Considering I broke my ankle 3 months ago and have not been exercising as much as before I think I did pretty well.
