Thinking & Feeling

I think about the implications

I heard this song yesterday evening and it has stuck in my head...

Overkill - Men at Work

I cant get to sleep
I think about the implications
Of diving in too deep
And possibly the complications

Especially at night
I worry over situations
I know will be alright
Perhaps its just my imagination

Day after day it reappears
Night after night my heartbeat, shows the fear
Ghosts appear and fade away

Alone between the sheets
Only brings exasperation
It's time to walk the streets
Smell the desperation

At least there's pretty lights
And though theres little variation
It nullifies the night
From overkill

Day after day it reappears
Night after night my heartbeat, shows the fear
Ghosts appear and fade away

I can't get to sleep
I think about the implications
Of diving in too deep
And possibly the complications

Especially at night
I worry over situations
I know will be alright
It's just overkill

Day after day it reappears
Night after night my heartbeat, shows the fear
Ghosts appear and fade away

Here it is in the context that I saw it
, I actually prefer the acoustic version (and I LOVE that show).

It's hard not to get overwhelmed by everything that needs to be done, and all the injustice and inequality around us.

It does become haunting.

But I think we just need to do what we can, when we can. Influence what you can and make a difference in the small ways that you can, and with the people who value it the most.

Everything will be alright.

"It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters." ~ Mother Teresa

"We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop." ~ Mother Teresa

Being something to somebody is significant, and sometimes it is enough...
